Our client a major recognised bank-fund situated Cayman Islands is seeking to find a new Finance Director. The job specification is listed below.
Job Specification:
Prepare profit and loss statement / financial related report. (ranging from daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly to annually)
• Prepare annual budget (Forecasting) – includes create, review and maintenance.
• Prepare annual bank tax returns and communication with relevant authorities (internal and external) in relation to taxation.
• Monitor and investigate any discrepancies of accounting GL entries (including creating new ones for new products).
• Ensure all accounting transactions by all departments for each month are recorded.
• In charge of bank’s payables .
• Verify the reconciliation of daily and monthly accounting (including nostro and vostro) entries.
• Maintain fixed asset register for whole bank in Thailand.
• Compliance with accounting depreciation policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Perform on timely manner the GL closing for monthly, half yearly and annually in term of provision providing, tax calculation, GP verification and currency revaluation.
• Ensure all the payments are complied with GAAM (Group approving Authority Matrix)
• Supervise a team of staff to ensure they perform their duties and responsibilities in accordance with their employment. conditions al includes payment utilities, SLA.
• Check, review and ensure accuracy on all related financial reporting to Head Office.
• Extract and communicate with authorized personnel from internal department request on financial data.
• Extract and communicate with authorized personnel from external department request on financial data subject to Country Head / Head Office approval.
• To continuously improve and enhance reporting / work flow process from manually to automation. (liaise with ICBA and relevant parties).
• Other related financial accounting / finance matter as per request by management on new projects and on ad hoc basis.
• Verify and check the payment slips in order to ensure the accuracy of amounts and the proper GL accounts are being used.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required)
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA (preferred)
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership capacity
• Banking experience is highly advantage
• Familiar with BOT Rule, Regulations and Reporting
• Proven experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Strong background in strategic financial management and business partnering
• Experience in managing external audits, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial regulations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent leadership and people management abilities
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, Power BI)
• High level of integrity, ethics, professionalism and stakeholder management skills
• Effective communication both English and Thai.
• Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset
• Attention to detail while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
