Job Specification:
The role involves provides legal counsel to athletes, teams, leagues, and organizations, focusing on contract negotiation, intellectual property, compliance, and dispute resolution. Draft endorsement deals, handle labor relations, and manage legal issues related to sports marketing, broadcasting, and facility management, requiring an acceptable Juris Doctor (JD) and bar licensure. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Contract Negotiation: Drafting and negotiating player contracts, coaching agreements, and team endorsement deals.
• Compliance & Regulation: Ensuring compliance with league rules, regulations, and international sports governing bodies.
• Intellectual Property: Managing trademark and copyright matters for sports teams, brands, and individual athletes.


• Litigation & Arbitration: Resolving employment disputes, disciplinary actions, and contract disagreements, often using arbitration.
• Risk Management: Advising on safety, liability, and insurance matters for sports events and facilities. 


Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school is required.
• Licensure: Must be licensed to practice law (pass the bar exam) in the relevant jurisdiction.

Specialized Knowledge: 

Deep understanding of contract law, intellectual property, antitrust, and labor laws relevant to sports.
• Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and drafting skills, with the ability to work under high-pressure. 

Work Environment:
Small private law firm, own office, not open plan.
