Purpose
We seek to find an Air Quality Research Engineering/Scientist Associate IV that will work on advancing the development of accurate greenhouse gas emissions estimates from oil and gas supply chains. As well as Air Quality work through out Southern United States. Expect secondment for a six month period to our clients laboritories situated in Jamaica, St Kitts and Dominion Republic, Caribbean.

Responsibilities:
• Data Analytics and Modeling: Develop and perform emission modeling of oil and gas production and supply chains, with wide latitude for independent action and decision; perform geospatial and statistical analyses to address science and policy focus.  You will be doing advanced data analytics, model development, and geospatial analysis.

• Project Management: Propose, plan, schedule, coordinate, complete and report the detailed phases of parts of ongoing projects in the group; devises new approaches to problems encountered. Lead and manage projects involved multiple universities and outside organisations to ensure deadlines and deliverables are completed on schedule. Coordinate field campaigns as necessary.

• Communication: Prepare scientific papers and reports; present scientific results to collaborators and sponsors, and at major conferences. Communicate results to non-technical audiences in industry, government, and the public.

• Mentorship: Mentor graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, and other personnel on projects by organizing regular internal team meetings and tracking progress.

Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Chemical, Environmental, Petroleum, or other related engineering disciplines with two (2) years of relevant experience or Master's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Petroleum, or other related engineering disciplines with four years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge about oil and gas industry infrastructure, operations, emissions modeling, and/or greenhouse gas emissions accounting.
• Proficiency in quantitative analyses and geospatial analyses.
• Ability to communicate research in writing and orally to broad audiences.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

More Smarts:
• Experience in life-cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic modeling (TEA);
• Experience in modeling greenhouse gas emissions from upstream oil and gas; production and downstream supply chains;
• Demonstrated experience in statistical modeling, data analysis, and scientific; programming languages (Python, Matlab, or R);
• Familiar with geographical information systems like ArcGIS;
• Familiar with public database associated with oil and gas production, including EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP), Inventory of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (GHGI), and Texas Railroad Commission.:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Meteorology, or related field with applicable coursework;
• Experience in air quality permitting or compliance;
• Familiarity with emissions inventory development and air dispersion modeling tools;
• Working knowledge of applicable air quality regulations at the federal, state, and local levels;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to effectively use Excel for data analysis;
• Strong organizational and communication skills;
• An intellectual curiosity and drive to seek to understand;
• Ability to solve problems factoring in risks and benefits in decision-making;
• Dedication to client deadlines and willingness to work overtime, as necessary;
• Ability to perform physical duties including, but not limited to, lifting, use of respiratory equipment and other protective gear, and traversing rough terrain;

Experience in:
Fieldwork: Collect air, gas, and particulate samples using specialized monitoring equipment and calibrate field instruments.
Laboratory Analysis: Examine pollutant concentrations—such as ozone or volatile organic compounds—to identify contamination sources.
Data Modeling: Use dispersion models and software tools to predict how pollutants travel through the atmosphere.
Compliance & Reporting: Prepare technical reports and help industries or governments meet standards set by environmental regulations.

Previois Career Pathway:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, meteorology, atmospheric science, or chemical/environmental engineering.

Core Skills: Strong data analysis in Excel, mechanical troubleshooting for sensors, and technical writing.
